I’M BACK!

I am officially free of high school! It’s only my 2nd day of an incredibly lengthy holidays and I’m already slightly bored. Sigh. Fail already, right?

Here’s what I’ve done already:

• Done some shopping for myself.
• Bought Anita’s Christmas tree and decorations (it looks so elegant with its silver/white decorations, good job to me I say)
• Had a mini Big Bang Theory marathon
• Cooked up a storm (roast lamb cutlets, greek-style lamb sausages, roast vegetables and gravy, mixed salad and a wicked chocolate mud cake with chocolate icing, whipped cream and chocolate covered strawberries)

I feel as though for two days of holidays, that is a mighty effort. I have no idea what I’m going to be doing in between going to school for Speech Night rehearsals and when I leave for Sale/Sorrento. I’m heading into the city tomorrow to babysit Charlie while Belinda studies for her Uni Maths exams.

I’m probably going to start planning Christmas presents, replanning the shopping list for Sorrento and sending out mass emails to everyone about final details. I also need to buy new boardshorts, bathers/bikini and clothes in general for Sorrento/summer. I wish I had more money – here’s to getting a job soon. FIngers crossed.

Anyway, that’s just an update because I’m increibly bored. Hayfever kicked in yesterday – feeling a bit *urgh* so I’m going to bed to watch some TV.

Saving up for this little baby. Gah, I feel like doing lots and LOTS of shopping right now. I wish school was over already… MAJOR SHOPPING SPREE! Yay! SO many things wanted, SO little money and SO NOT the right time to be thinking about shopping. Sigh.

I spent a fair amount of time grossing myself and Belinda out doing this at my place and her apartment. Let’s just say I wasn’t as successful at Bel’s apartment as I thought I’d be (a lot of tissues were used to wipe the floor). LOL. Despite it being incredibly disgusting, I couldn’t stop doing it. Also spent today’s afternoon hanging out with Bel’s younger brother, Charlie – he’s a such a cute kid. Hope you all had a very good weekend.

FUN FACT: I did about 25 bench presses today – with Bel as my 50kg (or so) weight. I reckon if I could do that fairly regularly, I’ll have arms just as tank as hers.

movie night

Did absolutely no homework last night. Had a good sleep from about 6 to 9.30pm, and then woke up and decided to watch The Breakfast Club. I love the movie! I contemplated going to sleep after I finished watching the first movie, but I decided to watch Slumdog Millionaire as well. I can now see why this film won 8 Academy Awards. An incredibly huge thanks to Sharline for the movies. A Friday night well spent I’d say. I recommend you watch those two movies if you haven’t already done so.

I now have in my possession, The Prestige. This movie was released in the same year as The Illusionist, and both films are based around magic, illusions, etc. Although both are based around these ideas, I’d say that The Prestige is a better film as it doesn’t revolve around a love story. I’ll probably be watching it again tonight!!

today’s antics

• Took the 10.11am train from Footscray direct to Flinders St.
• I was meant to meet up with Belinda at Degraves St – but she was running late.
• Went to Little Cupcakes and bought many cupcakes for her: 1 standard white chocolate and raspberry, 1 standard flourless chocolate (for Anita), 2 mini teddy bears and 2 mini cookies n cream.
• Before meeting up with Bel, I went to Brunetti’s and also bought her two mini chocolate panzerottis.
• Went to State Library and did Spec. and Methods – also did some reading for English.
• Played around with Bel’s new iPhone.
• By 2pm, Bel went to Officeworks to buy pens for herself and my mum.
• Ventured to Safeway to buy lunch – roast chicken, mixed salad with cherry tomatoes, potato salad, wholemeal pita bread and smoked salmon and spicy capsicum dips.
• On Collins St, we went to the Lindt Cafe and Bel bought me three vanilla macarons (love ‘em!)
• Had a nice sit-down lunch at Bel’s apartment kindly made by Anita.
• We started watching Million Dollar Baby until I had to go.
• Took the 5.19pm train to Werribee.

Currently: Drinking Lipton jasmine green tea, eating two of my Lindt vanilla macarons and watching the mini The Big Bang Theory marathon on GO! (Channel 99) I also just finished highlighting Hard Times notes.

Today has been tiring, but also very fun. Hope you all had a great weekend.

I stumbled onto a Lily Allen fansite, and I decided to browse through some of the pictures accumulated by the website. I was blown away by many pictures, but this one in particular just oozes happiness in the most simplest of ways. Despite her attachment to cigarettes (which might I add, featured in many pictures I looked at) and bottles of alcohol – I still give her credit for not turning into another Amy Winehouse. Just looking at that picture makes me want to smile. It’s definitely one of the best pictures I’ve ever seen of her. Speaking of ’smile’, I listened to the song again, and figured out the reason why I stopped listening to it. Not a huge fan of Alright Still, but I do love It’s Not Me, It’s You. Lily Allen is my poptastic dose of aural guilty pleasure.

Alex begged me to mention her in my blog. So I did.

Alex begged me to say that I love her, but for now, I’m not going to say it.

Jenifer is busy doing her psychology homework, such a studious kid.

Alex wanted to take over so that she could say that she isn’t desperate. I’ll let you decide on that.

hello electro

LA ROUX:

I love my rock/alternative music, but I also have a soft spot for indie electro as well. I am especially fond of indie-electro/rock mash-ups (remixes). I stumbled upon La Roux a while ago, but never gave them a chance to prove that they’re worth listening to. I gave in today, and now I am apologetic to them for ignoring them the first time round. Oh, and thank goodness for the synthesiser!
