She’s not well, she’s letting herself slip away; she’s dying on the inside. Her heart is weak, and it hurts, yet she still lets it run; she lets the blood run. She’s stronger than she wishes to believe. She surrounds herself with the people she loves, hoping that they’ll pull her out of this darkness she’s in. Her world slowly disintegrates and the hole she finds herself in slowly becomes larger. Her heart works overtime to stitch itself up, but the tears are coming back just as quick. Deep in this tattered heart of hers, she knows that the only person that can pick herself up is her.

“Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live.” ~Norman Cousins
